100 New Healthcare Jobs for Galway

One hundred new healthcare jobs have been announced for Galway by US Healthcare company Alere. The jobs will be created over four years and will be based in IDA Business Park in Parkmore East. The firm operates in areas of cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, toxicology, oncology and women's health. This will create many pharmaceutical jobs in the area as well as roles over various business functions.

All Ireland Gerontological Nursing Conference a resounding success

Elderly care nurses from nursing homes, hospitals, clinics and other medical establishments descended upon Dublin recently for the All Ireland Gerontological Nurses Association annual conference.  The theme of the conference was “Gerontological Nurses: Making a difference and Meeting the Challenges Ahead” and saw a range of speakers discuss the issues facing the sector at the moment. The day was a chance for nurses to network and discover best practice with industry. There were also a number of recruitment agencies present to discuss the nursing jobs market at the moment
